GOD'S CREATIVE PATTERN

Read: Genesis 1; Psalms 92:5; Jeremiah 29:11

The first introduction of the Almighty God to us from the scripture is that He is the Creator of the Heavens and the earth. The first action word in the scripture is "created". He is the Creator with no story of His own creation. He created the heavens and the earth without any error. He is the perfect planner and executor of His plans. On the last day of creation, He created man to be the crown of His creation.

However, God created man to be Co-creators with Him. He desires that in and through man, He will continue His works of creation on the earth. Hence, to effectively take our place in His grand scheme and carry out the tasks assigned to us, we must take time to learn and understand His concept of creation and His pattern for same.

"O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep." (Psalms 92:5). This portion is so instructive for any discerning mind. This reveals that the depth of GOD'S thought is the secret to the greatness of His works. Every excellent work is a proof of a sound mind. God conceived in His mind what He wishes to get done, He broods over such thoughts until the thoughts solidifies and becomes so real to Him within Himself. He broods over the thought until He sees the exact picture of the preferable end He desires to see in His Mind. It is good to note that thoughts are energy and thoughts are the building blocks of every creative design and work.

Conception within God is the first stage of His creative work. He conceives thoughts of His Will in the centre of His Mind in an act which we call Meditation. He sees the end from the beginning and since there are no impossibilities with Him, He can boldly declare the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10).

The second and final step with God in His creative process is the act of calling into existence what He has seen in His Mind (Gen 1:3,6,9,11; John 1:1-3; Romans 4:17; Hebrews 11:3). This stage involves giving voice to the thoughts within Himself. GOD'S word is the encoding of Divine thought in sounds. The thought energy within God is converted to sound energy via God's Mouth to produce any form of manifestation He so desires (Psalms 33:6). Since His words carries power, He just speaks and everything needed comes into place to ensure that He sees what He says. He does not need to stress Himself to do anything. All He has to do is to speak.

Conception and confession are the two creative processes God engaged and this process is also very instructive to us. To God, this is the real work- Conceive and Confess.

When the scripture said God rested from His works, what was He resting from? Not from running up and down the earth but from conceiving (meditation) and Confessing (declaration). If this is His pattern, how does this truth help us in taking our place in the continuous creative scheme of God on the earth.
