DEALING WITH THE BATTLE WITHIN

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. (Galatians 5:17)

Man is a tripartite being - Spirit, soul and body. It is the proper understanding of this concept that will help man to really fulfil his purpose on the earth and even live to please God in this earthly sojourn.

With the spirit, man is enabled to commune with God and the spiritual realms. With the soul, he is able to relate with himself and this is the seat of the ego self of the individual. With the body, he is conscious of his works and environment and he is able to relate adequately with same. These three dimensions of the man must be rightly activated for the spiritual growth and divine progress of man.

The grand design of God is for man to put his body, mind and soul under the control and influence of the spirit while the spirit is in constant touch with the Spirit Divine for illumination, instructions and directions.

The soul and the body are good servants but bad masters. They function aright when they are subject to the Spirit control within man as the spirit of man retains his communion with the Father of all Spirits. The soul cut off from the spirit influence and control will chart a course for itself which more often than not is against God's divine plan for man. The ego self of man is always wishing to be an authority on its own while God has designed it to be a servant to the impulses, influences and control of the spirit within man.

The understanding of this is so critical for it helps us to see the great importance of our consistent communion with God, His Spirit and His angels. It is the light received in this place of communion that is passed to the soul through the nous of man to be interpreted rightly for understanding and proper execution of the will of God on the earth.

The Soul and mind of man ruled by the body or by the environment is what the bible refers to as the flesh. This is when the mind is controlled by the senses and not by the illumination of the spirit within man. (Job 32:8)

To be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:5-8). To be carnally minded is to be controlled by the lower self, the senses and by the environment. Its simply yielding to the dictates of the flesh which is the lower human nature. However to be spiritually minded is to be governed and influenced by the Spirit within which is in constant touch with the Holy Spirit via meditation.

With the aforementioned as a background, the text becomes more real to us now. There is a battle within the new creation man - the man who has received the grace of rebirth and regeneration into the order of Christ. The old ways he used to live, his pattern of thoughts, worss, deeds and actions have become registered in his mind and even after his resolve to please God, he still finds himself doing those things which he doesn't desire or will to do (Romans 7:15-25). He struggles day and night to stop but he finds it kind of difficult to stop and after several failures, most men believes that it is normal and that there is no way out. The old mindset now becomes a very big issues for the one who is longing to please. While he desires to do what he knows to be right, he becomes frustrated because he feels he doesn't have the power to change his actions. The inner will now negates the outwards actions. This is one of the greatest frustration for an aspiring soul in the path of light especially for we youths with lots of distractions around us. This is what I call the great battle within.

REIGNING IN LIFE 2: ROYAL AUTHORITY RESTORED

For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One). (Romans 5:17 Amp)

So great a joy that the price for our redemption from the dominion of Sin and death has been paid, nay, paid for in full on the cross. Jesus descended to hell after His death on the cross to take the keys of hell and death so that henceforth the powers of hell and death would be render inoperative over the people of God.

He came to His own and His own received Him not but as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become Sons of God even to those who believe in His name. (John 1:12). Believing in the finished works of Jesus at Calvary is the primary requirement to entering into the reality of the provisions made available by the act. Salvation from sin and death isn't achieved by making a list of sins and confessing them but it is achieved by first believing in your heart that Jesus died for your sins and rose on the third day and then making a bold confession with your mouth of same. (Romans 10:9-10) However, you cannot come to this point without a remorse and repentance produce by the conviction of the Spirit within you.

By the death of Jesus on the cross, our sin was poured into Jesus so that His righteousness can be poured into us so that those who believe in Him would become the righteousness of God in Christ (1Cor 5:21). Everyone who believes in Him receive the same eternal life and gift of righteousness. The gift of righteousness is the same for every believer. You just need to believe that you are the very righteousness of God by your union with Christ. By this privilege, you have an unhindered access into the holiest of all by the blood of Jesus shed in the cross of Calvary.

However, while the gift of  righteousness is the same for every believer, the dimension of Grace enjoyed by each person is different. One can increase in grace but you cannot increase in righteousness. You can grow in the knowledge of His righteousness. Grace can multiply on individuals. The Grace of God through Christ is boundless and abundant. It is the knowledge of His righteousness and grace that multiplies Grace upon the believer.

Operating in the consciousness of this righteousness and appropriating the grace of God by your knowledge of the finished works is the key to dominion. Dominion is achieved by engaging the privileges of the righteousness of God in Christ to receive Grace in increasing measure. You reign in life to the level of Grace you have received from heaven and to the level to which you can engage grace by faith.

Faith is the key to dominion. Walking by sight in this world is walking under satanic dominion, walking by faith, in the Spirit and by the revelation of His Word is the key to dominion on the earth. Never stop taking time to enjoy His presence to receive His grace and to increase in the knowledge of God for Dominion on the earth. The power and grace for Dominion is received in the place of communion and the more consistent your communion is, the more consistent your dominion will be. To enjoy dominion on the earth, delight yourself in the Lord, spend time always and consistently in His presence and as His word gain ascendancy over your life in your life, you will also gain ascendancy over every opposing forces of life to enjoy your dominion in reality.

Arise, Shine for thy light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!!!

God Almighty in His infinite wisdom and boundless love created man in His image and after His likeness to reign and to rule on the earth as kings for Him. His desire was for man to remain connected to Him, His will, His ways and His wisdom with which they will be able to take their place of dominion on the earth. He made all the resources they will need available for them before they were even created and formed on the earth.

However, their loyalty must be proven. They must be tested and trusted. God also in love instructed that they should not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and that the day they do, they will surely die ( be cut off from Him and lose their essence and glorious destiny). Alas! Adam and Eve failed the test of Love (If you love Me, keep my commandments). They sinned and they died. Glorious heritage and placement was lost, Life and peace was lost, Death reigned and the world took a new turn negatively.

Death's reign emerged because of this one man Adam. Sin took us captive and brought us into the domain and dominion of death. Death manifested in man's productivity level as failure, his health as sickness, his marriage as divorce and barrenness, his finances as lack and poverty and in all phases of his life. Man became caught off from the source of life.

In spite of all these, God wasn't confused. He knew what to do. He has made the provision of the lamb that would be slained before the foundation of the world. The lamb to be slained was also to appear on the earth in the form of a man. The lamb appeared in the person of Jesus. The WORD through whom all things were created became flesh to be able to become the way to the Father for all men, show man the way to the Father and become the propitiation for the sins of all men thus making them fit to walk in the way. So sad...... He died!!! Yet So great a news......... He rose again. Death was swallowed in victory , the reign of sin and death ended. Power changed hands. Life and peace was restored to mankind.

It is now time for another being to reign and rule on the earth. Dominion is restored to man through Christ. Power and Authority to reign and rule is now restored because the price has been paid. The truth is we owe the debt we cannot pay but Jesus has come to pay the debt he didn't owe. What a great love of the Father God. Dominion mandate is re enacted in Christ.

The question is how did we respond to this? How do we enter into this placement provided for us in Christ?
